ReStore of Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk

September 22, 2016
Are you looking to remodel your kitchen this summer, looking to redo your floors or even just a cool low cost DIY project? Well if you answered yes to all of these questions then you must visit Suffolk Restore Habitat for Humanity. There are not a lot of people that know this little treasure place exists. For myself, I knew it existed, but I have never been there before until this last weekend. Hannah and I took a ride there to see what it was about. Let's just say, I wish I had visited this place sooner.

So just to give you a little background about this gem of a place. Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk is an independently operated affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Their mission is to work in partnership with thousands of Suffolk County volunteers and responsible, low income families of all races, religions, and creeds to build and renovate homes so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which people can live and grow into all that God intended.

The ReStore warehouse is a retail outlet open to the public to shop for quality donated new and slightly used building supplies and home furnishings at a fraction of the original cost, with all revenue going directly back into supporting Habitat Suffolk’s mission.

Hannah and I did a couple of laps around the store, finding something new and cool each time. You can find a new kitchen, carpeting, pictures, tiles and more. But if you have your heart set on it, get it while you are there because most likely it won't be end you return. New things do come in daily, so if you didn't find what you are looking for, definitely go back and browse again. It's a win win for everyone.

You can also donate to the ReStore, which will help tremendously and they will be forever grateful. Click HERE to see what items are accepted and how to schedule a pick-up. For more information call 631-521-7789 or visit the store at 2111 Lakeland Avenue, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779. Store Hours: Monday & Saturday: 9-3 PM, Tuesday-Friday: 9-6 PM and Closed on Sundays.
