IT'S A "MAD HATTER" PARTY AT THE LONG ISLAND CHILDREN'S MUSEUM!

Alice In Wonderland as been taking over the Long Island Children's Museum since the recent exhibit, "Alice's Wonderland... A Most Curious Adventure" opened.  In keeping with the Alice theme, which runs through the end of August, the LICM is hosting a very special FUNdraiser on AUGUST 7 to help support the Museum's exhibits, programs and performances.

Long Island Children’s Museum can’t get enough of Wonderland this summer!  The Museum’s summer exhibit, “Alice’s Wonderland: a most curious adventure,” is a hit with the multiple generations that visit LICM on a daily basis.  Visitor reaction prompted LICM to create a special night at the Museum celebrating Lewis Carroll’s enduring characters - Alice, the Queen of Hearts and especially the Mad Hatter.   LICM will host a “Mad Hatter Party” on Thursday, August 7 from 6-9 p.m.

Join LICM for a night of fun and games, Wonderland crafts, face painting, costumed characters, a crazy hat contest and of course, tea and light refreshments.   The evening is a Family FUNdraiser, allowing visitors to support LICM, while enjoying the hands-on activities and play-based learning that brings them to the Museum throughout the year.

Visitors will be able to create hats and join in a parade to show off their crazy creations before the Queen of Hearts.  A grand prize provided by Whole Foods will be presented to the winner.  Families will design their own flamingo mallets to test their skills at croquet and other themed games; become the Cheshire Cat as they design their own lingering “grin,” or choose another Wonderland image in the face painting parlor.

Visitors will meet and pose with Wonderland characters as they all sit down to tea and refreshments and a performance by the Queen of Hearts’ court jester.  Tickets for this special Wonderland night are available online at www.licm.org or by calling (516) 224-5802.  Ticket donations are fully tax deductible and support the Museum’s exhibits, programs and performances.

Don’t be late for a very special date!  Join in a night of fun to support a favorite community institution.
