The NYC Winter Lantern Festival is back this year with 3 events! Illuminate the Farm: Queens, A Bug's Night: Nassau County, and Escape!: Staten Island. My family was invited to go and we got to check out the Illuminate the Farm event at the Queens County Farm Museum.

What a unique experience to have with the family! We loved every minute we spent at the Illuminate the Farm event! This awesome display was filled with handmade animals, flowers, and so much more! From the minute you enter there are lanterns lit up and lining the entire pathway throughout the farm. We were free to walk the paths in any direction for as long as we liked. The kids thought the lanterns were so cool and had fun posing next to them for pictures.

There were not only farm animals to see but so many other animals and a few fun surprises, like the unicorn drawn "Cinderella like" carriage, the illuminated swings we got to take a turn on, a cool light show, and the fact that some of the lanterns were moving! We barely took a few steps before my kids were asking me to stop and take another picture of them with another animal or flower.

The lights of the lanterns were so pretty to see at night as the whole farm was glowing. It was especially nice being able to see everything up close. My family really enjoyed seeing this beautiful light display as we spent about an hour walking around. We love going to see lights during the holiday season and this was a whole new kind of experience.
